Hello October!

New Month is always full of opportunities
As we bring awareness to Breast cancer this month, we also want to emphasize on what the new month brings.
A New Beginning is a fresh start to reset and refresh your mind. A time to bloom. However, this is
futile if you are still congested and wrapped from head to toe in the past seasons. Spring is time to
start afresh.
So, let’s begin with ourselves first, before we take on the task of spring cleaning our bedroom!
It takes 3 days to form a new habit and 21 days to change an old habit.
Here are five habits I focused on

  1. Digital Detox – I know this is difficult to do at first but once you build that discipline you will
soon enjoy it. Respond to important messages. Let people know when you busy and when
you will be available to chat. Reduce unnecessary scrolling. Social media is not free, it costs
    your focus.
  2. Get moving – Start small start walking! The air is fresh in the mornings. And the sunsets are
beautiful at night. The birds are singing early in the morning. The bees are busy, and the
flowers are starting to bloom. There is a beautiful kaleidoscope of colours unfolding all
around you to look at. And when it rains, you can walk/march in your room to music. BUT
GET MOVING!! Walking is doable and the advantages to MOVING, it boosts your mood and
    banishes stress!
  3. Declutter your mind – Just as you have successfully started the digital detox, and you are
moving, our minds need to be transformed. So, we will not slip back onto old patterns and
    systems.
    Start your success Journal daily.
Take these daily actions for a few months, enjoy your results FOREVER! Writing builds your
faith especially when you look back and see how far you have progressed. And it increases
    your confidence! Double whammy.
  4. Make at least oneself – improvement daily.
  5. Keep a progress journal and make daily entries.
  6. Celebrate (and record) every achievement, no matter how small it seems.
  7. Heal your mind!
  8. Write down some goals you will work towards for the next 3 months.
I personally live by goal setting – it is critical for your direction daily. If you don’t have a
plan for your life, someone will make you part of their plan for their vision and life!
  9. Build a healthier self – image!
Your self -image is a mental picture of how you see yourself. If this picture of yourself is
broken through trauma, sexual abuse, or any kind of abuse in your childhood; this
picture is shattered. Just like a mirror is shattered so too is your view of yourself
    distorted.

As we approached the end of the year let’s do some self-reflection on our Journey this far, and take time to take care of our Mental health and our spiritual health in the same breath.

Lets make the most of the time we have in this life…. Stay Blessed.
